Course and Course Content Reflection

Course and Course Content Reflection

After reading the first chapter of the text, I am excited to begin forming my philosophy! I’m a bit overwhelmed at what seems to be a lot of course work, but that’s usually how I feel after the first class with all of the information being given at one time. Once I read through it all and figure out a schedule and break it down into weeks, it will be less overwhelming I’m sure! I’m looking forward to learning about the professionalism and terminology that comes along with being an educator. My biggest worry is sounding uneducated, and that I don’t know what I’m talking about when working with people. These children and their families are the most important part of this profession, so I need to feel confident that I’m doing right by them once I enter the field. Overall, I’m looking forward to all the knowledge that is to come, and I think it’s a great course to end with for theory in this program.

Sheena, I appreciate how you break down the overwhelming beginnings of starting a new course. It is a lot to take in all at once. I too am looking forward to learning more about professionalism and terminology through out this course which I believe will be inspiring to us all.

It definitely feels overwhelming and daunting at the beginning and it takes weeks before I start to think I might know some of this stuff – but right now that is only on paper! I too wonder what this will be like “live and in-person”!
